Just curious, I was told they need to be about 19" or above to be their "premium" driveshaft, and mine's going to be 18.25", so I'm curious what you folks ended up with on your Jeeps (those of you that have TW DS)...

Turns out I need a shorter driveshaft because of my combo with the D44 and all according to Tom Wood's... Just sucks, I wanted the premium driveshaft for the small difference in cash, but they don't make them under 19"..

I know this sounds odd, but I think mine was 16 1/4". It just seems really short if my memory serves me right....since you're saying you should be around 18".

Don't forget that different rear ends will necessitate different length ds's....D44 vs. D35 vs. 8.8, etc.

Also, tranny differences will make a difference as well Smile .

Yeah...I know. But I don't believe the 8.8 was longer than a D44. I could be wrong though.

I can't remember the specifics, but I think it has a higher spline count, little beafier and can take a little more of a beating... Tom Woods claims that the shaft I'm getting should last 5 years no problems, and highly encourages greasing during oil changes, which shouldn't be an issue for me..

hmmm, I wonder, do you think it's possible my DS will be way too long? Erik, yours being so short, makes me wonder. But I know lift height/rear axle/tranny are major considerations in length.. I just don't want to deal with issues, once it's in, I want things to be golden as far as the SYE/DS are concerned.. I got my SYE today infact!!
