Truthfully, driving lights are supposed to go as close to the ground as possible, but I say the hoop, just because of the damage factor.

I like mine on the hood, but I'm gonna add a second set on the bumper somewhere.

Small question- if you mount them to hte hoop how would you do it? Would you drill holes all the way through the hoop and put a nut on the bottom?

Could you hang them from the hoop upside down to fill in the space where a winch would go? Don't know if it's physically possible...but that's a thought. The hoop should then protect them a bit, and also get them lower to the ground where the aux lights would work better.

There's a little hole at the bottom that would let water in so I'm afraid that's not possible. Rolling Eyes

Can you flip the light in the housing? I know I did that with a set of Hella 550s in order to run them hanging down rather than sticking up.

I'd almost see if making another drain hole would be possible and then plug up the original one. Just an idea, don't know if it can be done to them. You could also mount them to the winch holes possibly for now?

In my case its called either uummm laziness or winter Mr. Green Those are the OEM lights from DC. They dont give any slack in the lines, so I left them in the stock position for know. We are having a messy winter with lots of icey roads, so we have lots of road salt and sand and it gets everywhere. So Im waiting for nicer weather to clean it up and make changes. Very Happy

I'm going to have a go at fitting these at the WE. I have a brand new wiring harness include a little switch that look likes a miniature mouse. My question is how do I get from the engine side to the dashboard side?

TIA

Well I decided to fit them on the bottom after all. They stick out just a touch on the hoop as well as the bottom and the bottom mounting made the wiring so much neater. I'm going out when it get's dark to set them up and try them out.
