OK, so what is the Best Mod under $50 you have done. NO FREEBIES OR SUPER SPECIAL DEALS. This needs to be a mod that someone else can replicate, or buy for under $50. Post pics if possible, and where we can pick this stuff up. Low tech is always best, but anything under $50 is great. Cool

Mod:My mod would be SAW(5.56mm) Ammo Cans mounted on my fenderwells. These cans will run you about $7. These are great for storage, I keep all my tools and accesories in them. They are watertight, and tough as nails. These are trail pics, I will try and post some more technical pics tomorrow.

Install: Drill some holes in the can, match them up to the fenderwell, drill some holes in it, apply bolts/nuts/washers.

Other:The mod is perfect for YJ's, but SAW cans are too wide for TJ's. I think that 30 cal cans should work, cause TJ's have narrower fenderwells.

Where You can pick some up at: http://www.armygear.net/ag/store/0002a.html#

I MEANT FOR EVERYONE TO POST THEIR MODS UNDER $50, SO POST.

With inflation, there's not much I've been able to do for under $50. Confused
However, I did manage to buy some Sun Performance disconnects for my soft top for under $50 (I think they were ~$40 from Quadratec. Great stuff - no more flapping in the breeze. Mr. Green

How did I miss this thread? Confused

Quick discos on the XJ:

2 - 0.5"x2.5" cleavis pins, 2 - 5/32"x2 15/16" hitch pin clips, 2 wing nuts and 4 poly bushings.

Total cost - $25...plus a little beating, banging, drilling and cursing...not necesarily in that order. Mr. Green

Ghetto Cold air intake..
Remove the stock filter box..
Get a honda Civic rubber air inlet hose.(from TB to airbox.)
Clamp on a cheapie autozone fiter..
VIola..

Honda Civic inlet tube ..$5 at boneyard..
Cheapy airfilter from autozone.... $19.99

(I have a K&N filter but I switch the cheapie on when I go mudding..
NO use ruining a good filter with mud.. I can clean and reuse the cheapie 3 or 4 times before its useless... )

There you have it about $25 for a cold air intake..

Ghetto style..Mr. Green Mr. Green

PICS?
And if we don't have access to a boneyard, where can we get one of those inlets? Got a part # maybe?

Well since you cut out all the super special deals Mr. Green , I guess the best one that I have done for less than $50 would have to be my RE hand throttle. The cost for the kit is less than $30, cheaper if you peice it together from bicycle parts. I actually got mine for free from www.allmyneeds.com. Jeff had them free with any purchase over $100 last fall. Works great for those with a manual tranny, and you can lock it down to keep the rpms up for things like winching or just charging a battery.

On a leaf spring vehicle it would have to be a u-bolt flip. make them point up out of the way instead of down for rocks to catch....about 25.00 per axle at the junk yard. old dogde and chevy,s have them you just have to take them off spin them sideways and turn them upside down from the way they are on the truck
