Anybody know a good source for an NP231HD chain? I've looked at JB Conversions' and they have a wide chain that I suspect is probably the same, but for $225. I'm thinking that there's probably a source (i.e. for the Dodge Dakota's) that's probably cheaper, but I'm at a loss finding them. TIA

Dodge Dakota 231 is HD (I think) But where are you going to get one of those... (Boneyard is an option)
Durango,Ram trucks and Chevys S series also had the 231 and are all options if you are bone yarding..
You know that you are looking for 231d and you probobly have 231J now..
I will do the world famous Swampysearch and see what I find...

I did some searching and found out that Chevy s10 has 231 C which is the same as the 231 D so there is a very good option..
I read where someone got a S10 Tcase for $50.. Think about it..
How many s10s there must be in boneyards and who wants parts off those crappers.. Very Happy
I am still looking...

Good call! I hadn't thought of the s-10's. I was thinking more along the lines of swapping the chain and sprockets, but now that I think about it.....

Well, it's looking like that might be more work - different input shafts (I have the 2.5 Embarassed ) and shift patterns. Never any love for the 4 bangers Confused
