How do I go about figuring out what gears I have in my 2003 Sahara 4.0 with a 4 sp auto?

Grab yourself a clean rag and lay on your belly. On your pumpkin there should be a metal tag that is connected to your diff. You probably have something like a 4.10

Or you could call a jeep dealer and give him/her your vin number and they can tell you. Saves getting dirt on your shirt. Thats what I did. Wink

He definitely does not have 4.10s with the 6cyl. Most likely 3.73s. The best way is to crawl under the Jeep and take a look at the tag. Look for 3.07 or 3.73 on the tab. That would be your ratio.

Yeah, a Sahara with an auto should have 3.73's. The best thing to do is to crawl under and look at the tag. (The real question is do you have a Dana 44 or Dana 35 in the rear...the 44 is an option on Saharas)

3.07's come with the 5 speed, I6 Sports (3.73 is an option).

4.11's come with 4 bangers and are standard on the Rubicon as well.

Oops, I didn't catch the 6 cylinder portion of his post. I stand corrected. Wink
