Gatortops

Looks like the guy from CalTops is trying to start a new company.....wonder why Wink . Certainly is an interesting design with the flip up tonneau and sunroof type front (like the Bestop one). Fortunately I don't have $650 lying around, so I don't have to wonder about design issues.....or possible CS nightmares Mr. Green .

I still think that Steelhorse one would be worth a try for a summer & trail top since it's not nearly as expensive as the other choices out there, but then you're still dealing with a company with a history Confused .

Pretty cool, but expensive.. I would love hydrolics to lift up the tonneau cover though!! Hmmmmm, seems like a fun little project to think up!

Yep, I found that cool too. Not only does it cover it, but it actally includes it inside the cockpit part....not just a extension cover to go over top of it. It's got a lot of good ideas, just hella expensive for a halftop.

Yeah, this looks like it's supposed to be a seperate entity from the Caltops venture. I think their regular half tops are going for like $450.

I wonder whats under the duster so it can support the weight. Thin plywood?

I was looking at building something simular, but when it came down to it I started thinking is it worth my time and energy. Wink

The owner has been sending me emails about some of his other products - cool stuff. I'll see if I can dig them up.

With a set of hard full doors, I think it'd be just as good as the softop. Maybe even more so since it's only gotta cool half the space. I've read that most people with the regular half top have been able to retain the HVAC efficiency, so I'd assume it'd be just as good or better since this one seems even more air tight Smile .

...........but I still don't have the money to do a field test on it Confused Mr. Green .
