I wonder how much it would cost for some car shop around here to install a lift kit...

I give up.

Well, tell me how to install it myself? I have very, very limited automotive skills. I'm going to take Auto Tech my senior year but... don't have the space nor time until then.

Gosh, someone... without... the tech skills of a Jeep enthusiast comes on here... and gets put down for such.

I mean is it even easy to install a lift kit?

Yes. All it requires is simple hand tools for a mild lift.

To have it done your best bet is to find a 4wd shop in your area. You want it done by someone who specializes in 4wd vehicles....

It's easy to do yourself if your mechanically inclined and have basic hand tools, but it's time consuming. I've done writeups for both of the installs that I've done:

Well, this one's run its course. Be sure to post pics when you get your unlimited and check out the links thephantum posted - good info on installing a lift.
