Curious, what are the prices and who carries them?

That's not a wench, it's a guy in the driver seat! Mr. Green

Looks like an aluminum housing and mount. What kind of specs do you have on it - the WINCH?

Found this...

The setup looks cool, but do you think it would degrade the radiator functionality at all? It covers the front grill more tha 50%.

Here's some info I got from John:
Quote:
Overheating is not an issue. We have even tested with V-8 powered Jeeps. The air flows over and behind into the radiator. It is alot to due with the shape and our anti-snarl plate. Also, our winch is not as large as others interms of height and width(i.e. WARN, Ramsey, etc.).

Not a whole lot of info out there.
A google search reveals only the company's website and nothing else.
No prices could be found on the website, nor were there any retailers listed.
Are these made in the USA or imported from some third world country where 8 year olds assembled them?
What are the terms of your limited lifetime warranty?

Looking kind of shifty. My advice would be to offer some to some offroading mags (JP, Petersons, 4-Wheeler, etc...) and let them review them. Oh, and to send me one and let me review it. Mr. Green
If you're just getting started then one of the most (if not THE most) important factor in buying a winch is price. Prices would be really nice to have. Cool

If it's more expensive than a 9000lb Warn, Ramsey or a Superwinch then I wouldn't make a whole lot of them. Confused

I sent John an email earlier today. Hopefully he'll post some more info. I also found that the Turtle Expedition trucks use the 12,000 lb model.

OK...so it's not as large as Warn or Ramsey...but what about price and reliability. Without either of those you really can't compare it to a Warn or Ramsey.

Kinda echoing what Qad said, if it's less expensive than a Warn, but not nearly as reliable...why should I not spend the extra money and get the Warn? The last thing you want is your winch giving out when you need it. Let's see it perform...repeatedly....in offroad situations (i.e. - dragging ya out of a deep, sticky mud pit) with conditions at their worst.

And lets see those reliabilty numbers vs. the price. Mr. Green

MegaWinches are built on commercial/industrial standards. As far as I know they are the only winches with a warranty in industrial or commercial service, they come with a limited lifetime warranty (that's how tough and reliable they are). 95% of MegaWinches are sold to utilities, construction, mining, oilfield, etc. type of customers.

In the past, many very good articles have been written in the enthusiast magazines about MegaWinches.

Is this outfit still with us? I've used their products in very heavy pulls, and they video taped me pulling out a 66,000 lb. concrete truck with my 1983 Jeep CJ-7 with one of their 12,000 lb. winches (had them front and rear).

See the story here:

Scroll down.

Would like to get in touch with them.

Thanks in advance.
