This is the best forum site I have found so far. Maybe someone can answer a question that so far no one has been able to. Does anyone know specifications on the Rubicon front 44. This subject may have come up before but I'm new here. There are several companies selling the bare 44 housings as a replacement for the M30. The only advantage I see is being able to run really low ratios not available for the M30 and having a larger 30spl inner axle shaft. There are plenty of aftermarket axle upgrades and hubs that could build a M44 for a lot less money than a custom built unit. Has anyone ever tried to install an ARB with other gear ratios? Some say this axle housing is an oddball... Whats the difference?

We had a bit of a discussion about them.
