All is well with the new Job..

SO I still cant find my card for my digital camera but I am finished with my Spare tire carrier.. I am going to use my vid camera to get a still image of it tommorow.. Then I will post it..

As you may or maynot know.. We have had lots of flooding around here..
About 15" of rain in a 24 hour period... 7 of it in 4 hours..
So anyway.
Picture about 30" of water on the streets.. And here is me tooling along..
when out of a raised parking lot comes a nuckle head in a Nissan..
He hits the water and throws up a wall about 20 feet high.. Well Since my tires are almost totally under water I have virtually no brakes so I push them anyway and they are soft so I swerve to avoid the turd and.....
Like I said there is lots of water on the road so I didnt even know there was a huge ditch and I was in it.. So now Here is my Jeep under about 6 foot of water .. I dropped it into 4 low and turned hard left and got the hood out of the water then Jumped out and disconnected the battery..
(thank you autozone for quick disconnect battery cables..)
Anyway.. No real damage other than Starter coil and all fluids...

I am all good now.. But my tranny feels funny..
It might be time for 5 speed conversion...

Glad you had your scuba gear. Shocked
Just for kicks, what all is involved in swapping trannies? A new computer? Or can it be made to work with a manual?

So everyone can picture what Carl is talking about, this is a pic my wife's family took when she was growing up. She's from Metairie (suburb of New Orleans circa 1987)

Thats not bad ... But the road I was on was more like this...

the cars that you see are on the median.. The water is much deeper in the road... Mr. Green

Here is a pic of the canal I ran into.. the day after when the water had mostly subsided... My feet in the pic.. And when I was standing there the water was almost waiste deep..thats my drivers side track you can see in the bottom of the ditch..

Here is the debris line.. See it just below the building in the background..

The shrubbery was almost completly under water.. I didnt even notice them till I was in the canal...

So there you have it..

By the way.. Everything I had in my truck was totally screwed up... Radio ..CB and GPS.. ............................. GOne...

So I have a new CB and have to get a new GPS..

One last pic..
My cup holders still full of water ..

Notice my CB mike in the front Cup holder ... It was trashed to... Confused

Its cool though .. I feel better now.. Mr. Green

The swamp Zebra is officially carpet less.. And I have an appointment at the Line-x place to get the entire inside sprayed.. Its going to be fine..

Oh and as far as computer working with 5 speed.. I think I will have to use a MSD box.. And bypass the stock ignition box otherwise I will have issues with the engine not idleing properly...

I am working one figureing it out now... I have a buddy that did it to a Dakota with a 5.2 .. SHould be basicly the same thing.. He started off with a 46RH same as me and now he has an NV 3500.. SOoooo.. He is going to help..

Mr. Green

Ill keep you informed..

Thanks EEP for the well wishes... I am glad nothing major went wrong and no injuries as well.. Mr. Green Mr. Green

YUp.. I am still working on it... Looks like I am gonna have to go with a Dodge 3500 and shorten my rear shaft and lengthen my front and make new skid plates and mounting brackets and.....AHHHHHHH.... I am going crazy...

But I havent given up on doing it... I have found the tranny and I am talking to a friend of mine about using his shops lift on the weekend... Mr. Green

If I can get my tranny out and mock up the new one. (get some measurements then put mine back in... I can build the skids and order the drive shafts so that when I am ready I can do it all at once...

Now I gotta just set my mind to doing it... shock shock
