Anybody mounted one of the plastic racing seats in a Jeep?
Here are a couple of examples I'm looking at - here and here.
I've searched around and I've found adapters for CJ's and YJ's but none for TJ's. So anybody fabbed up a mount? Any photos? I'd like a nice Mastercraft seat, but I'm not looking to spend a fortune on it. TIA

The project has begun. PB Blaster is your friend. And I'd like to run into the engineer who designed the bracket and decided that it would be more fun to have stuff sticking out everywhere. Rolling Eyes

Here are the old and the new seats.

That's why I got compressible foam to go between the seat and the cover.

Sorry when I saw that seat I thought of the winter time and using that for sledding! Let us know how comfy it is with the padding, and will you be using a 4 point harness or stock seatbelt?

I'll send them to you for the winter. They're too wide for the jeep - spent a couple of hours the other day building a mount for them only to discover the seat is too wide. I can fit one on the passenger side if I offset it, but I can't do the same on the driver's side without the steering wheel hitting my knee. That or I can just take the doors off and never close them. It was worth a try. Wink

It doesn't have one. I can fit the passenger side if I move the seat towards the center about 2-3". I'd have to move the driver's seat about the same and don't want to risk taking everything apart to end up being off-center from the steering wheel. I was just trying to be cheap and save a few $$$ on seats but it looks like I'll have to pony up some cash.

It was an idea....

Here's another one...I was at OK4WD on Monday and was sitting in some Bestop seats they had there while waiting for my tires to be completed. I liked them. They might save you some cash versus some other brands as I think they're a little cheaper.

I got mine off ebay pretty cheap
$184 for two seats in great condition. I mean it's not a couch so you don't ahve to worry about sex juice, well I guess you might in the front passenger side, well we cleaned the seats really good before we installed them.

The world according to KTJ. rofl
yeah, I've been looking through the various catalogs for any kind of seat. I'd ben keeping an eye out at the boneyards for mustang seats, but haven't had much success yet. I'll likely end up going with Bestop or Corbeau seats. Looking on Ebay - Sahara seats are going for a small fortune.

What color do you need? Or what color are you looking for?

A guy I wheel with replaced his Rubi seats (agate in color) with some from Corbeau or some other aftermarket brand. I don't know what he did with his old ones. Want me to ask him?

At this point, I'm looking for anything. The driver's seat has about had it and I'm tired of brushing all the foam off my leg every time I get out. Sure, if you could check, that'd be great.

I'm the king of odd bidding, all of my prices and purchases end with weird numbers. It was like $184.64 and I sold windows for $5.73. I'll keep and eye out for you.
