Hi There,

According to the data plate under my driver's seat and the codes in my shop manual, I have an AX5 tranny (DDQ) mated up to the 6cyl in my '99 TJ.

Totally different from what everything I've read in several sources. I was interested in ordering a short-shift B&M, but now...newbie Rolling Eyes

Unless it's really an oddball, it should be an AX-15, if you've got a manual transmission.

I'm going with everyone else on it being an AX-15. To reallID it, crawl underneath and compare.

Good luck. BTW, why are you curious? Having tranny problems?

Thank you for the prompt replies. Thankfully I am not having any problems and was only looking for a short shift kit. According to my service manual, the data plate says I have an AX-5 (Code DDQ vice DDO).

I crawled under the vehicle and the filler plug is on the driver's side which indicates to me that I do have an AX-15, correct?

Tak tak,

Keith
