|
|
I have a 2000 Jeep TJ Sport and it is leaking something that I'm not exactly sure what it is.
It's coming from the drain tube that comes out of the firewall in the engine bay on the passenger side?
It's about 3" long and it seems to be dripping water but I'm not sure? |

So thats what that is... I ran a longer hose and put it in the washer resevoir.. So that it auto fills...
Just kidding... AC works by removing moisture from the inside air and then it has to go somewhere so it just dumps it out on the ground..
Home AC works the same way.. _________________ BONE STOCK

So if I'm not using the A/C, why is it leaking so much lately? |

How much is it leaking? And have you been using the defroster? _________________ Nothing to see here. |

It seems to leave a small puddle after I first start up and when I stop.
Anywhere from 2" diameter to 6" diameter...sometimes nothing.
I tried using the AC and it still blows very cold.
I don't remember it doing this last year so maybe the air conditioner is starting to go?
Or is it something I probably shouldnt worry about? |

I would start the Jeep and check the AC compressor clutch. If the controls on the dash are off set or something you might think you have the AC shut off but it's running.
With the selector on the Vent setting the clutches' inner wheel on the compressor should NOT be turning. _________________ "T.O.W. "= Tent On Wheels.
