24 Throttle position sensor input above or below acceptable voltage. TPS signal does not correlate to MAP sensor.

I get this twice when I check my codes, so what does that mean.

you need to replace the TPS. Its not working correctly and sending false signal to the MAP. The MAP sensor is telling you it not receiving the correct signal.

What The Major said...unfortunatly the TPS on the ODBII systems is not adjustable like the one on the ODBI, so ya gotta replace it.

I know you said you thought had a bad injector too, but if the ECM is throwing a TPS code, the injectors might be fine. What exactly are the symptoms? i.e. - what is the engine doing?

Just another thought - weren't you having problems with the voltage fluctuating?

I forgot about that....so we've got the voltage meter dropping out, injector woes and a squirly TPS....really need to hear what the engine is doing. Is it stalling, running rough, missing, high idle, etc...

Okay, here's the deal. Voltage meter, has been fine since we went wheeling. The engine will stall when I come to a stop and at low idle. Sometimes you here a small pop (almost like a back fire) when I accelerate at higher RPM's like 3 it starts to feel like something is pushing the jeep backwards( maybe Iam explaining that wrong.) It feels like it getting opposite force when I get in to higher RPMS, meaning the jeep struggles. Only in lower gears. 4th gear if I get to 70 my engine sounds like a freaking race car. some times while driving it the engine cuts in and out. Anything else you need? Oh yeah it's also a 4 banger Rolling Eyes Wink

Those are classic symptoms of faulty TPS. I'd replace that first.

Any auto parts store should have it or be able to get it. It'll probably run you around $50.

well my jeep is dead. I tried to start itthis morning and nothing at all. When ever it did run it was burning oil, Corey think in the intake, it also made a hissing noise, kinda like a hole in manifold, but I'm not sure. I think I want to junk it and start over. Oh well, it's in louisville, I'm in Bowling Green can't do much until I get there this weekend.

Didn't you blow the engine about a year ago? Is it still covered under warranty?

yeah it has a 7 year 70,000 mile warranty, if it's not covered under warranty, I think I will look for a new jeep and pat mine out. I can get money for the doors, soft top, various parts. I'd probably get more by parting it out than I would if I sold it outright, and it's not worth anything on trade in.

Hey bud - Whatever you decide do with that hunk, I'm with ya. If you want to try and fix the TPS sensor and maybe R&R the coil then lets do it. I personally think you aren't getting any fire up front and thats why it smells of gas so badly. If the coils out you not moving under your own power no matter what. Go to auto parts store and purchase the TPS and we will replace it. We will start there and work our way back.

If you want to sell it I will give you $500 as is !!!
I will take one of my Oldsmobile V8's that I have layin' around and throw it in that beotch.... Now lets go wheelin'

I don't think that's why it smells of gas. Finger
