This is the response I got from the "R&D Team"

"Dean

Below is a response from our R&D team leader. I hope this helps.

All of Hypertech’s power gains are compiled from an average of chassis dynamometer runs. A minimum of three (3) power runs for each fuel/tuning combination are used to guarantee that the power gains are typical of what our customers will see. We have found that this process results in accurate data that our customers can easily duplicate, often with better results than we advertise.
Specific to your question, the dyno graph shown for the 2000-2004 Jeep Wrangler/Cherokee/Grand Cherokee with 4.0L engine is a compilation of power runs from a 2004 Jeep Wrangler X with manual transmission. Due to the similarities in engine/drivetrain and calibrations our dyno figures easily represent the typical results for the 2000-2004 Jeep Wrangler/Cherokee/Grand Cherokee 4.0L. You are correct that dyno curves for similar vehicles can vary. There are many reasons for this, so Hypertech takes the extra time needed to guarantee that our dyno charts show typical results rather than extreme gains under special circumstances.

There is no simple explanation for the discrepancies you have noted above 3kRPM. As stated before, the power graphs for the 2004 Jeep Wrangler X 4.0L are a compilation of multiple runs for each tuning/fuel combination and should be repeatable by others. This was a completely stock vehicle with no other modifications installed or performed."


Pretty much all smoke there...not a real answer.

Ah well...guess I'll just have to keep looking for a custom tuner.
