i have an aftermarket tube bumper on there right now and it is all rusted to hell. I bumped a tree the other day while whellin - the folded under the pressure. didn't even puch it all that much, just a tap. and I have a buddy whos gonna give me his front bumper for 10 bucks. Smile Shocked Very Happy

i figure that will be better than the piece of crap that I have on there right now

Yeah, it should fit. If it doesn't you can always redrill it. Make sure and give it a fresh coat of paint before you put it on, some rust-o will work well.

If you have access to the tools I reccomend cutting the ends off of each side with a cutoff saw or sawzall. Bryan (DirtyRedTJ) did this to his and make an el-cheapo rock bumper. Just cut it off somewhere between 30 degrees or so.

It makes a killer approach angle too. And you're less likely to hit stuff with a shorter bumper.

We used a cuttoff saw, but if you have a machine shop nearby they should only charge you a few bucks to do it. I know you work at a college, do the maintenance guys have a shop?

I have a YJ one sitting in my garage, the one side is bent in a little but if you are gonna cut it it doest not matter.

A TJ one will NOT bolt onto a YJ, the bolt holes are different

Or if you want I can build you a custome one, that is GARRENTEED not to fold or bent, or break at ALL.

I have pitures of one i made if you want to see

Dan
