YEH.. so remeber i was having all these problems with the jeep starting up rough waaaaay back and then idling rough.. then my belt started squeeking ... ok.. well i know where all those problems came from now. Sad The A/C. My air stoped blowing cold air so i had it re charged and now i have to drive like 20mph before i turn it on otherwise i get a loud ass squeek and the jeep gets REALLY sluggish like it wont go and had next to no pick up.. so now i know what is causing all those problems... something withthe a/c - but what?....some one said the a/c clutch? what do u guys think... any pointers would be cool - thanks! Mr. Green

Sounds to me like the A/C's fine, but your computer isn't bumping up the idle when you turn it on. Just a thought. As for the belt squeaking, that may be from the compressor or the compressor clutch.

A loose serpentine belt is my first guess. The A/C compressor creates a helluvalot of resistance, so a belt tight enough to drive the water pump, fan, and power steering may still slip when the compressor cuts in.

It could be the compressor clutch or the compressor itself....especially since you say there is a severe loss of power when you turn it on under 20mph. If the clutch and/or compressor is bad then it's putting a HUGE drag on the engine (loss of power) and causing the belt to slip (the squeal).

BTW, nice to see ya B. Wink
