Well guys, after doing alot of reading, looking etc, I decided to fit the back of my new TJ with a Jeeperman Swingout Bumper, Rock Rack, Gas Can holders, bumper tie in etc.

I should have it in 3-4 weeks, and I am really looking forward to it as it pretty much meets all of my needs regarding a solid rear bumper, and keeping weight off the rear tailgate.

My goal is to fit the frontend with a Warn winch, and heavy duty bumper with a tow bar next spring, or summer. The jeeperman rear setup is my first priority.

I'm quite happy with mine - check out this thread. Todd has some good tips for installing it. Wink

Yeah I realy like mine. The trickiest part is figuring how to properly shim it. So you end up having to remove the right rear brake light assembly and remove the carrier to change shims.

To thin, it shuts hard, no rattles
To thick, it shuts easy but rattles
Just right is just right Mr. Green shuts easy and no rattles.

I installed the bumper and swingaway yesterday. My god those 4 inside bolts on the crossmember are a nightmare to get in. I have 3 of the 4 tight, and still need to get one of them tight, just cant get a wrench in there to hold the nut.

I also moved the rubber stopper to the top center bolt hole of where the old tire carrier attached, and now i need to trim off about 1/2 inch of the rubber as it wont let the carrier close because the tire hits it first. Typical, always some little thing.

Also, I havent received the 3rd brake light kit or bumper tie in kit they sell. They assured me it can go on without removing the bumper again.

I like the looks of it, and know I will be pleased when it is totally finished.

I put a warn bumper on the front of the TJ, and like it.

Well I took about 1/2 inch off the outer rubber tire stopper, and the swingaway closes nice. I still have to put the Rock Climber jamboree rack on, but that looks like one of the easier chores. I really like the looks of it, and the black powder coating is nice.

WhatWasIThinkin, your instructions helped alot also. I went ahead and put the thickest chim in on the swingaway figuring by the time I get the jamboree rack on, etc, it will sit about right.

One thing I know for sure, I am never going to take this bumper off! I had to use my 16 year old boy with his long, skinny fingers to get the left side inner 2 bolts, washers, and nuts on. My ole fat hands couldnt of done it. Awesome setup, I am very pleased with it.

I think everyone that has installed this bumper will agree about the difficulty of geting the crossmember bolts installed.

But beyond that it is a great product.

Am I the only one that didn't have any problems? I snuck mine right up in there and fished a ratchet with extensions and a swivel adapter right up there to tighten them.

I wouldn't have it as easy now....the gas tank skid closed off the gaps I used to get the bolts up there.

If you have a body lift on your Jeep it is alot easier to get to them. I dont have a body lift on my TJ, and so it was very hard to get at. They say you can drop the back of the gas tank to make it easier, but I didnt want to do that.

I totally forgot about that...I do have a 1" BL and there was plenty of clearance to get the bolts in.

I took advantage of having my gas tank out, then it was a sinch! Awesome bumper though, absolutely awesome. Their third brake light sucks IMO, but other than that, incredible!!!

I got the frame kit as well, nothing like a little insurance!

I wonder if anyone has a better idea for a third brake light? I agree, it's pretty cheesy as is. Works, but that is about it.
