I just purchased an 01 Cherokee, and being new to Jeeps, I think it is a fine vehicle other than this "coffeepot" or gurgling sound I hear when driving in the rain. Its coming from the cowl area right in front of the driver. Does this jeep have a defect or is this normal for the Cherokee?
Mudpuddle appreciates any feedback!!

Since it only happens in the rain, it's prolly something with the wipers. I had a simailr noise years ago (mine was more of a constant thunking...kind of like a coffeepot) and thought it was the wiper linkage bushings. I took it all apart, but the bushings looked fine. I replaced them anyway and after I cranked it all back down and put it all back together the noise was gone. I suspect that either one of the bolts that hold the motor to the linkages backed out a bit and was causing the noise or that the bushings were bad (even though they looked fine).
