Considering getting a Cherokee, but finding a lot of leaky head gaskets. Some worse than others, but every one had the same leak, and oil in the coolant. The best one of the weekend that i found had minor leak at the head, a small leak where the transmission meets the block, and another small leak coming from the rear of the transfer case. I've never owned a Jeep before, so was hoping to get advise on how difficult these problems are to fix, and if there's anything else i should know to look for on the cherokees.

The one in question is a 2000 4x4 Sport with 78k miles. They're asking $7100. Good buy? I can do most wrenching my self, just wondering what's really involved, and if i should even worry about these minor drips.

Thanks,
Mike Ward
