Just got back from another little drive....here are some quick photos.

Mt. Whitney and the Alabama Hills

The Panamint Valley from Father Crowley Point - the road is one wild ride. Shocked

Road damage from Aug flash flood. The damage is now mostly confined to the area around Furnace Creek and they expect to have all the roads repaired by March. But, the undamaged roads are taking a beating from no maintenance while the flood damage is repaired.

Desert Bighorn Sheep near Mormon Point

Manzanar Internment Camp entrance - be careful, there's still barbed wire all around and it will tear your pants if you're not watching where you're going. Confused

Monument in Manzanar Cemetery

Panamint Springs gas station. Who was complaining about gas prices??? eeek

If anybody's interested, I'll throw some more photos up.

Some more photos from this past weekend in no particular order...

Cottonwood Mountains

Cottonwood Mountains

Cottonwood Mountains

Darwin General Store/Gas Station/Bar/Post Office

Daylight Pass

Daylight Pass

Grapevine Mounains

The Racetrack

Salt Creek and Panamint Mountains

Teakettle Junction

Titus Canyon

Ubehebe Crater

Ubehebe Crater

Joshua Tree

The weather started out fine but then turned quite poor - hence the poor lighting at the Racetrack and Teakettle Junction. Also, Titus Canyon will be closed for quite a while due to flood damage.
