I have a 1997 Cherokee and it seems every time I turn right and then back left it feels like I float to the right a bit before the steering kicks in and takes me back left. Could something be going haywire causing this? Also I get fairly loud pops from the right front occasionally when I turn right. Any help appreciated! Shocked

It's probably one of the heim joints in the steering. Since you are getting pops from the right front I would check the tie rod ends as well as the ball joints at the steering knuclkle on that side.

Good Luck.

Steve

Hey Steve? With what he just mentioned? Mine's starting to do that too. Pulling the steering wheel full to the right gives a loud pop under the front, and I feel floaty around the front afterwards. I'll need to check out the same thing...

Check the trackbar where it bolts to the axle. It might seem tight, but get a breakbar on it and make sure that it's mega tight....Chaz you might want to check that too.
