OK. I was a good boy and did a search on it first but I couldnt find anything I needed. My question is... Im going to buy a TJ used. It'll be my daily driver AND my wheeler. I dont do rock because there isnt any to speak of in Illinois. Mostly mud, little sand, and lots a hill climbing and water crossing. Anyway its between a sport with the brake and traction group (4 wheel disc + 30" tire group with the D44 rear and trak lok) and a Rubi. The local market has a used Rubi at about 2K more then a comparable sport as I listed it. Im figuring for the 2K, Im money well ahead with the Rubi and I dont have to take the time and hassle of adding lockers, Slip yoke eliminator, or gears later. What say you?

For 2K more, go for the Rubi. The front & rear 44's, lockers and 4.11's more than make up for that cost.

That's my $0.02. Mr. Green

Ditto x eleventy billion! Cool

For 2k more you have got a much better starting platform if your planning on larger tires, lift etc. About the only peeps that will disagree with this are the hardcore Jeepers that drop V8's in the front and go for 12" lifts and basically want to spend $15000 on additional parts and peices to make an offroad only trailer queen all in an effort to make thier rigs better.

Kinda what I was thinkin too gents. Not that I have anything against a blown, injected, small block, twin custom D60's, a mile of lift, and 44's. I just dont have the budget for all that stuff, not to mention the trailer and tow vehicle Id need to get it to the trailhead. Smile Me thinks it shall be the Rubi........When I can find one I like anyway. Seems they're all either soft tops and/or automatics. (I LOATHE automatics! Evil or Very Mad ) And I will NOT drive one of those acid induced, whacked out colored ones either. Black or khaki would be good. Just to toss gas on the fire.... Why did DC put the lousy cast aluminum wheels on an otherwise capable trail vehicle? If they were gonna go aluminum they should have stole the forged wheels off a Dodge 2500 or just put some stout steel discs on it. Ah well. Biding my time until it comes by. Cool thanks for the thoughts
