Well, this past Thursday was student Dyno Day & I got to dyno the Jeep.

To the Wheels:

230 Hp
252 Tq

We are guessing around a 40% loss through whole drivetrain. 20% through auto tranny itself & 20-30% through the TC, DS & D60 axle with 4.88 gears.
But as you can hear, it seems that we kept hitting a speed limmiter, so the HP & TQ numbers are probably higher. Every run we did (3 in all) all felt like it hit a wall of power once we got to about 105-110 mph and the rpms were only at like 3500-4000 rpm...redline is 5600-5800 rpm.

Here is a link to one of the movies we took...in "D" & gunning it after reaching 2000 rpm in 3rd gear:

I have one even better that is 100 mb, but need to figure out how to chop it up & shorten it into 2 movies. One will be from a dead stop in "D" & another in 2nd gear shift position.

I am gettting a not found error...

Try right clicking the MPG and copying the address from Properties..

YOu have a Hemi and its only getting 230 HP... That seems really low...

Hell I thought the stock TJ's with the 4.0 had 190 or so..

Am I wrong..

I dynoed my ZJ a while back and I was over 300..

I was on a computer Dyno and I know thats a differnet reading
than the wheel dyno .. But can it possibly be that different?

I want to see that vid...YOu can also post a link to the imagestation account...

Is there a reason you drop off at 3500.. rev limiter or something??

Carl

Right click on the link & click on "Save Target as" & copy to your computer.

As for your questions...the 190 hp stock is at the flywheel. There will be a 20-40% loss throught the Drivetrain for the hp & Tq at the wheels. Yes there is a speed limmiter at about 105-110 hp that we kept hitting & the RPMs were only at like 4000-4500 RPM withe a redline of about 5800-6000 RPM.

To put things into perspective, the '99 Mustang GT we dyno'd got 223 hp & 260 Tq to the wheels.

Yes...355 hp & 375 TQ

One thing everyone has to know is that the exhaust is pretty restrictive compared to a Ram. Most Rams you come against are also not 4x4s but 2wds. On top of that, the lift kit I have, makes it is much harder to plant the power into the wheels as well as the bigger tires to turn compared to the stock Ram tires. Anyone who is into drag racing will tell you it's all about getting the HP & TQ to the wheels. But this isn't a sports car or a drag car, it puts pleanty of TQ to the wheels when in 4 low & 1st gear...that is for sure.
