To celebrate the arrival of summer, Jeep® has reinforced its impressive line-up with the introduction of the 2005 Jeep Wrangler, featuring a new six-speed manual transmission and a limited edition Jeep Wrangler Renegade.

For 2005 Jeep has introduced a new six-speed manual transmission with hard-finished gears for improved gear-change quality and refinement. Improvements include a lower first gear for brisker acceleration plus a higher top (sixth) gear for quieter and more economical cruising at speed with reduced engine revs.

A new limited edition model, offering outstanding value and further distinction, has also been added to the Wrangler line-up.

The limited edition Wrangler Renegade picks up cruise control, "Ecco" style alloy wheels, dual top roof - including soft or hard top option, auto dimming rear view mirror with lamps, overhead compass and temperature gauge, leather wrapped steering wheel, side steps plus "Renegade" badging.

With its additional features the Jeep Wrangler Renegade offers an even more individual and unique package adding $4,000 of extra value for only $2,000 more.

Wrangler Renegade will come in four colours - black, bright silver, light khaki & patriot blue. A limited run of 300 Wrangler Renegades will be available.

Wrangler Sport is also available in stone white, flame red, electric lime green and two new colour options, impact orange and deep beryl green.

"No other brand offers serious off-road capability combined with a powerful six-cylinder engine together with the added benefit of a soft top, hard top or no top option," said Gerry Jenkins, managing director, Chrysler Jeep Australia.

"Priced from $29,990, the 2005 Jeep Wrangler is the best value for money serious off-road four-wheel-drive on the Australian market.

"Jeep Wrangler's combination of standard features, traction, manoeuvrability and versatility has often been copied but never truly matched. Its reputation for taking on and beating some of the toughest off-road trails in the world - such as the Rubicon Trail in California (USA) - provides customers with the utmost confidence, while offering them a sense of fun and freedom with its unique features.

"The 2005 Wrangler offers even more standard features to set it further apart from its would-be competitors, providing customers with the perfect excuse to head off into the great outdoors this summer," Jenkins finished.

2005MY Pricing:
Wrangler Sport six-speed manual $29,990
Wrangler Sport four-speed auto $31,990
Wrangler limited edition Renegade six-speed manual $31,990
Wrangler limited edition Renegade four-speed auto $33,990

Jeep Wrangler continues to build on its iconic status in Australia with year to date sales of 813 units - up 35 percent over the respective 2003 figure (as at November). With such popularity Australia is now the highest volume market for Wrangler outside of North America.

Jeep Wrangler is built at DaimlerChrysler's Stickney Avenue Assembly Plant in Toledo, Ohio, USA.
