Greetings again! I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 Fulltime 4wd and my check engine light went on last week. I did the on/off code thing and received a 43 error message what does this mean? Thanks!

According to this thread, it means the following:
43 Peak primary coil current not achieved with max dwell time
OR
43 Cylinder misfire
OR
43 Problem in power module to logic module interface

Just recieved an e-mail from another party stating the following:

Code 43 - Battery tempature sensor volts malfuction. Problem with battery tempature voltage cicuit in the PCM.


If I am correct, The battery tempature sensor is located directly under the battery mounted on the battery box (plate). It measure the tempature of the battery to allow the adjustment to the altenator to produce more output (cold) or less (hot) depending on the tempature of the battery. You may want to check the wiring that runs from the sensor to the PCM.
