If you do the math, the OE wires are not of adequate size to handle the load required when 100W bulbs are swapped in. However, lots of people have made the swap and not had a problem. You're really doing yourself a disservice though running the lights through such small wire as it's choking the circuit. You get better performance with adequate size wires.

The easiest, would be to use the stock wires to control relays wired directly to the battery. Harder would be to rewire the whole circuit using a relay.

If I remember correctly, OE is 18 or 16 gauge. I would go with 14 or possibly 12 but would have to do the research and calculations to figure it out. Also, the longer the run of wire, the larger the wire should be to handle the load. And if the wire is bundled, it decreases the capacity.

Watts/Volts = Amps

110W/12V = 9.6A (55W bulb x2)
200W/12V = 16.7A (100W bulb x2)

EDIT: after looking it over, 14ga should be good. Make sure you use braided wire, not solid core.
