I am wondering if anyone has removed the viscous fan clutch and blades and replaced them with a electric fan assembly? I seem to have a problem with the waterpump bearing being pulled forward to a destructive death by the force of the fen. We live in a cooler climate and a alectric fan would save horse power and fuel.

can you wire it up to the thermostat so when the temp gets to a point the fan comes on?

I used toggle switches on mine .. (because I do alot of deep water) and I used a Ford started solinoid for the high side.. (Others say this is not good but no problems so far.. (And they are only $9 so I carry a spare..)

For wireing the switch I just cut the power side of the low speed (between switch and fan) and ran it thru the switch..That way switch off still kills the fan no matter what... Very Happy

I can take a picture of where I mounted mine If you want...

Carl
