I've only heard negative things about the thornbirds, it is a cool looking tire though.

I wheel with a guy who has a toyota pickup and thornbirds and so far they have done him well....i was also reading up on some reviews about them and technically its an all terrain tire not really a mud tire

thats just what a tire company/person said about them

anyway this is an old post but if anyone is concidering them ive seen them in action and they do all right

All terrain or not, they still suck Mr. Green . If they're being classified as an AT, I'd recommend the BFG ATko's over these things any day, or night, or whenever. I've had both and I still say that the only thing the Thornbirds are good for is making a chromed out trailer rig look really sharp on the cover of Fourwheeler or 'tech' mag of choice rofl .

Just so it doesn't seem like an unsubstantiated 'they suck, don't buy them' post, I hydroplaned into a 180 on a wet road (stopped raining, but the roads were still slick if you will), dug myself rocker deep in snow with them (thanks blizz of '94), got stuck in regular 'mudding' more than I chose to remember, and they wore like hell to boot. I had 'em, I hate 'em thumbs . In contrast, the only time I started rethinking owning ATko's was when I started hitting Paragon and stuff.

A buddy of mine had them on his Bronco and THEY SUCK!! Horrible in rain. The truck was all over the road. NOISY!!!! Sounded like an airplane coming down the road. Not even good off-road despite those big side lugs.
