Well the WJ tranny has been on the outs for some time. It shakes, it rocks it makes cool noises but it kept going.

Today I pull into angled parking from the opposite side of the road and go to back up to get in the spot evenly and the jeep lurches forward up onto the curb.

Put it in N to roll it back, it goes forward. Put it in park, it stays, try R again, forward more... Ah Shiat

Call my boss/uncle who is well aware of my tranny issues as we swap cars alot. He just starts laughing and says he'llbe down.

he gets there , I hook it up to his truck and he drags me off the curb into the street.
Put it in drive and drive home, with no weird hessitations or noises or shakes.

Still no reverse though and N is 1st gear.

Awsome

I am actually starting to gather stuff to swap in a Dodge truck 5 speed into my grand...It will be a slow build.. I have to get all the stuff before I even dare attempt it... As far as I know noone has a V8 Grand with a 5 speed...

I will be using the XJ pedal assembly and Everything else will be from Dodge truck..

Anyway.. Good luck with yours...

Carl
