Ok,

I had stain spots on my TJ's top a few days ago,and so I washed it today with hot soap, and the frickin stains are still there. They just got there few days ago and I have no idea how or when. There is some big ones on the top of the top too and there are quite a few. Then there is 2 smaller spots on the side of the top beside the window on drivers side.

I scrubbed and scrubbed...im pissed off...

Possibly mildew. Mildew cant just be washed off....it has to be killed before it can be washed away.

Hardtop or Softop?

If it is mildew, for a hardtop most any brand of mildicide should work..like X14. For a Softop make sure that the mildicide is safe for fabrics....some is and some aint.

that was my guess too. i have some sap that showed up on mine (too long under that damn pine!) and at first i thought it was a cig butt burn from when the top was folded down last weekend. a few extra scratches with my fingernail made me feel better though. i think a good soaking down with simple green will do the trick next time i clean it.

Dont know how it could be sap,it is never under any trees,at least in the last week or so. Where it sits in my driveway, there isnt a tree above or around it. I go to work and it sits there for 7 hours and no trees above it there either. weird...

Could be acid rain, Hard water spots from washing, could also be a chemical from smoke, like factory or plant while it was raining. I'm also in the reconditioning Business and have seen a lot of this happen. If it's hard water from washing you should see it on you rims if thay are chrome or alum. and maybe on your glass. Believe it or not try washing it with Dawn or Joy first. Just make sure it has no hand lotions in it or skin conditioner, etc. Down side you have to re wax your Jeep, but it's a great cleaner. If it doesn't work PM and tell me what happens.
