If you look close it appears to have rear leaf springs and the stretched top dosent match the rear corner well. They may not be leafs but there not the standard LCA's either....maybe something hand built for this prototype. It obvious that the body dosent match the wheelbase of the vehicle well.

Its says 4 door Wrangler, but Im thinking its more like a Scrambler truck body happening there.

yeah you're right. Adam Vogelstien removed the coil in the rear of his tj and put in leaf springs. He likes it a lot, I know it gives it more stability but what other advantages does rear leaf offer?

That's more similar to the TJL used in by overseas military organizations. Not that the Unlimited top is too short and the decreased rear overhang, like the TJL.

Igor! Fetch me a brain! Holy FrankenJeep's.....well, I guess at least we can gather that the next gen of SWB's will still be open tops. Not sure which top they'll use, guess whichever they find laying in the back of the dev center Mr. Green . Wonder if that's even the platform they'll be using or if they're just using existing stuff and mocking it up first....dunno.

A new addition to the Jeep family will be a four-door variant of the Wrangler when that model is redesigned in mid-2006.

The long-wheelbase Wrangler four-door will be considerably wider and longer than today's Wrangler, with exterior styling said to resemble that of the Jeep Gladiator concept truck unveiled in January at the Detroit auto show. Insiders say both Laredo and Rubicon trim levels will be offered.

The next-generation Wrangler will become upscale, with improved safety features and more content. Engine choices will include a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a 3.7-liter V-6. Rumored for the four-door Wrangler only is an optional 5.7-liter Hemi V-8. Jeep reportedly will offer buyers a choice of five-speed automatic and six-speed manual transmissions.

No more photos, but some engine rumors. Wink
Quote:
The '07 Wrangler will NOT use the 3.7L V-6 engine. Jeep understands the great value when owners mention that "it has a 4.0L in it."

The engine slated for the next generation Wrangler will be a modified version of the 3.7L V-6...it's displacement will be increased to 4.0L using more stroke (increased torque) and slightly larger pistons.

DCX has promised over $300 million to upgrade the engine plant in Trenton, MI. Over $155 million of this money will be used to prepare the plant to build the new 4.0L V-6 engine.
