Hi guys, I am very interested in making a light rack for my ZJ.
But I have no idea where to begin. I am a n00b at wiring and at mouting things onto my roof, and I don;t know if I should mount the lighst onto my stock roof rack or onto anotehr bar, and then mount that bar onto the roof, or roof rack.
And I am also nervous about getting electrocuted while dealing with wires, since I have no idea what a ground is or how it works (i know it is suppsoed to keep you from gettinc shocked)
As you can see, I am really confused.
I searched for a write up on this, and I couldnt find one. And one of the reasons I comet o jeephorizons is for the awesoem writeups
SO someone please make a writeup on how to make a light rack for a zj
Thanks Smile Smile Mr. Green Mr. Green Very Happy Very Happy Razz Cool newbie

alright
also got a question
WOuld it be ok to just mount the lighst on the stock factory cross bar on the roof that comes with my zj?
I would consider doing that because then all I need to buy would be the lights

it may work depends on how many lites you use and how much they weigh just remembe when you drive you create drag and that will create the stress on the rack

i would try it and if you notice that the rack is flexing a little too much then i would create a brace or somethin to help support it

Nah... Light bar will have to be secured to something more than the flimsy stock roof rack... What I did was make a frame.. That looks like a pi sign...

Two long pieces that run from the back to the front mount and a cross brace.. Then mounted the lights on the cross brace... (Mine is not like that but I have built a few others that where...)

I will get pics of how mine is built and how I built one for my buddys XJ.
