I have a 99 Jeep Cherokee and the window fell out while I was on the interstate. I opened the door and saw that window was still attached to the motor and all of the parts were in place except for a silver metal coil. My question is what does this coil do, and where does it connect to?

Read this write-up and see if any of it looks or sounds familiar. Then come back with questions.

Yeah, I looked at the write up... although I think that a metal coil needs to be attached to something else. I haven't taken the window piece off yet, so the teeth could be torn, although I think it might just be the coil. Do you know where the coil attaches?
