Does anyone make rear fender patch panels for Xj's?
I see people selling the whole rear fender, but mine are just gone behind the rear wheel. I could make some I guess, but usually patch panels are pretty cheap.
I did a yahoo search but didn't find any.

Are you referring to upper rear quarter panels? I was able to create a set of them from diamond plate, and they look real good. They are bent to match the XJ body in the rear (because the rear panel is not a flat piece), and the end of the panel sticks out just before the end of the lights and is slotted so you can see the rear lights AND have some protection back there. They come bare steel and can be spray-painted to match any color (mine are flat-black). They won't stop a dead-on collision with something, like a thick branch at waist-level, but they will help keep "trail-rash" to a minimum, and will add some extra protection to your taillights.

Now, there are other people that make and sell these professionally, and if you want to price compare with mine I'll get with my cutter to see how much an extra set would cost to make. You can also take wax paper (from a bakery store, wide enough to fit the side of your panels), trace out the panels to your liking, and then cut the pattern out of either cardboard or posterboard. Then if you already have the talent you could pick up the metal yourself and cut the pattern out or get a fabricator to do it for you. In the long run it would be the cheapest way to do it.

If you would like me to look in on how much it would cost to make you a set, PM me your email address and I'll check into it for you.

EDIT: I'll get some pix uploaded soon so you can see how mine look, or I can send them to you by email.

All I really need is the bottom 12 inches or so. Mine are completely rusted away. The fender above that is fine.
Thanks!
