A buddy of mine asked me a while back to make him a front bumper. And as with any good buddy a simple bumper got a few add ons the more we talked about it. I cant complain, as Alot of it was my idea, and well he wasnt gonna argue with pure genious ( Very Happy ) haha

any way here are some specs.

2x5x1/4 rectangular tubing, 1.75x.120 tubing, and well the rest is kinda self explanatory.

it will also be getting fender tubes when i put it on his jeep and build his cage.

So we start out with your run of the mill bumper

A few (ok alot of) hours, and maybe a beer or two later...
we have the main hoop bent (needs to be cut down yet - allways bend long [Wink] )

And last but not least the semi finished product.

All in all I am very happy with it. I spent alot of time milling over the mounting and the hoop and just all in all on the bumper.

So love it? hate it? dont get it? Im game for some feed back.

Dan

If it was mine I would say I was 95% happy with it.
My only question is this?
Why is the tip of the stinger so much higher than the hood hoop.
Because the stinger is so much higher, the hood hoop is not really protecting anything. It is providing support for the stinger, but that is about it. It will be a good place to tie in the fenders when you build them if that is your plan. (Then I would give you a 98%)
I probable would have made the stinger closer to the same height as the hood bar, but that is just me.
I like it, good work.

I've always been under the understanding that stingers are supposed to provide a fulcrum or pivot point to assist the vehicle getting back on its wheels after a rollover. To do this, you want the stinger to stick up above the hood.

Yup, and to help avoid endos...

Ill take 98% :-D

Teh tube fenders are getting tied into it and the cage.

As for the height, I built what the customer wanted, the money talks haha
