Anyone here in Northern Calif have a good Cyl head to a 1985 XJ 2.5L?
Or a complete engine?

I was wondering why the guy sold me his great looking XJ for 20 dollars...
I just firgured it out.... The ironic part.. As I was picking it up.. My friend says to me "I sense disaster"

Well thats still a pretty decent deal, if you paid 20 dollars, and everything but the engine is in good condition. I believe the axles on the 2.5L were like 4.10's which are pretty decent. I say drop a big V8 in it and make it a hardcore trail rig... Very Happy

Start by giving Archer Brothers a call - (510) 537-9587. If they don't have it, try http://www.jeeprecycling.com/

Good luck with a V8, lol. Even though I've seen it done (not personally) it would take a lot of work. You'd really have to brace up that unibody to keep it from flexing too much...

Unless the motor mounts are bomb-proof and line up perfectly with the engine, you'll run into problems. Imagine the torque an engine like that generates, and then having it wrench itself from its foundation at the most inopportune moment. Not good.
