I did my Mileage today and I'm averaging 18.75 mpg. Is this good? I do quite a bit of high way driving and don't get on it.

I just got basically the same thing as you, I do about 50/50 city, highway driving, and the best I've seen is 16.5. This last tank, it's been really humid lately so I've been using the A/C and it dropped to 15.8.

I drive mostly highway ie about 100 miles a day for work. 50 miles there and 50 back. I went 279 miles from a full tank and when I filled up I filled 14.883 gallons. Don't forget guys, I have a six speed. I usually keep my rpms around 2k at 65-70 mph. Or try to at least.

What gears did you get? The 3.73's? Cause I have a six speed also with 3.73's and my rpm's are around 2,300 to 2,500 at 65-70. Weird.

I have 4:56's and 33's and that's about what my RPM's are at with my 5spd in 5th gear. Shocked

I gave up on fuel economy on mine...as it's not my DD. Geez...my full size '04 Dodge 4x4 HO-CTD averages about 20mpg. Rolling Eyes Even when I had my 31's and 3:73's (5spd) I still only got maybe 14 mpg with my TJ. It went up a bit with the top off which makes sense...but honestly, it's aweful hard to be 100% accurate as us Oregonians can't pump our own fuel. It's against the law here. Rolling Eyes Therefore, it's difficult to top it off accurately when you're held hostage to somebody else pumping your fuel.

To tell you the truth I'm not sure. I think they come stock with 3.07's unless stated otherwise. I'm running on 225's and do mostly highway. I will look again at the rpms and double check. I'm pretty sure it's around 2k at 65 or so.

Your commute sounds like mine! 52 miles one way to work. However I usually keep her at ~80MPH and still get around 17/18MPG overall...it's when I hit stop and go tfc on the DC Beltway, that's what kills my MPG then I'll get around 15MPG.

For most part I see 17/18MPG though...she runs on 31" tires, has 3.73:1 gears and a 1" BL. I'd be willing to bet that I'd only get around 15MPG if it weren't for the intake, headers, and exhaust.

I double checked and I'm at 2k at 65 mph. But throw those numbers out the frickin window if I turn the AC on. Lord oh might! I lost more than a 1/4 tank in 40 miles of highway.
