I've seen Bushwacker flares on newer XJs, so I figure a slight modification is needed to get them on. You can also use TJ flares, and they look pretty cool as well. I went ahead and cut mine off and used door gasket around the edge. I think it looks best of all.

thanks D!..i like the looks of the BWer flares alot, a little pricey but i know they gotta be worth it, compared to the ones on their stock..about 2 monthes ago i went riding and my back tires hit my fenders and popped um off, now one wont stay on.. Confused do those flares bolt on or screw on if so how do they work? i also have an 01 XJ, what years is yours, and what mods did you do to get them to work.

BushWacker flares are good but, be prepared to cut!!!! You have to cut out your fenderwells and then they screw from the outside. Check out the link below

sorry about that. they write up looks real complicated for someone like me, to try and put them on. would the 01' TJ flares be as complicated to put on my 01' XJ, as the bushwackers would?

Yeh TJ flares bolt right up on the 01's it was a last year model thing only. the bolt holes are EXACT. Just take them from a TJ and put them on the XJ. No modiffication needed at all.

I just did this to a jeep not to long ago.
