I am not sure ..Sounds like possibly the master cylinder .. I would bring that to a shop and let them do the free inspection thing that alot of them offer...
Even if you have to pay them $20 or so... At least you will leave there with the knowledge that changing one part will fix it.. And not just start buying parts and replacing them ...

But if the pedal is spongy no matter what you do ... That is normally the master cylinder.. I am only suggesting a mechanic because brakes (especially with ABS) are very tricky...

Something you could try that is free is to unplug the electric connector that goes to the brake distribution block and pull the ABS relay and fuse from the panel under the hood.. Then bleed the brake..

That will take the ABS sensors out of the loop... Sometimes if they are dirty they affect braking...

Good luck..

now I have to get on that fuse block... Mr. Green

The Jeep will take one hell of a hit before the airbag pops open so you should be good there... And if not ... I can tell you how to disable it and swap steering wheels for about $100 Mr. Green

Like I said.. If you have any questions just ask.. If I dont know the answer I will try to find it.. Or someone else here might know it.. Mr. Green

Yes, the Jeep airbags don't deploy very easily. Wink

Thanx for the vote of confidense that sure makes me feel better but still have my douts now and then I have heard so many horror storys it makes me wonder I do think that all modeles with air bags should have a disable button for guys and womenwith these thoughts it shouldnt be left to the dealer to decide that it is a must have what happend to the drivers needs and thoughts oh well its just another 1 for the i guess.
