will a clutch fan from a 88-89 fit a 93 both are 4.0l but the 88-89 has 2 fans the 93 has only 1.Can the fan blades be removed and installed on the 88-89 clutch fan?can get the fan for free and am trying to save cost and do some investigating before atempting this.my fan is shot and think its most of my problem as the temp goes up quite high and its driving me nuts and can see me needing a motor in a year if its not cured.it really heats up with air on, or off and just pulling ,or sitting in traffic anything that passes half to me is not good .Any help appreceated guys .

I dont know.. I would just swap in an electric fan... The taurus fan pulls more air than stock and less drag on your engine is always better...

Be warned you will need to eventually swap alternators if you do the taurus fan swap.. It draws alot of amperage and if you idle with the fan on high it will drain your battery.. I solved this problem by first not idleing with the fan on high and second swapping in a 136 amp alt.. Mr. Green

Look in tech section for writeup on how to do the Taurus fan swap..

thanx I have read it and sounds not hard but was try to save a few bucks and can get a fan off a 88-89 for free and thought that if I can just change the fan blades it would be nice as it also has a clutch fan just smaller I thought and it would eliminate the need for a larger altenator.Just a thought .!

IT just may work.. I have also heard of buys taking out the clutch and drilling it and putting bolts thru it to make it solid and spin all the time..

Give the XJ fan a try .. It might work..

Pull them both out and put them side by side and see whats different..
