I don't do electic and this is rig has power everything. Some of which doesn't work or works from time to time. The rear driver's side window stopped working about two weeks ago in down possition of course without warning. It seems to have rained every day since! It isn't making any noise so I'm thinking no power maybe. How would I track down this problem to fix it? Thanks in advance, Ward

Try this: hold the switch in the position to put the window up, and smack the door panel in about the middle of it. If the window either goes up or tries to go up, like comes up a little bit and the stops, your motor is shot. Otherwise, get your hand on a wiring diagram and check for power at the motor and at the switch. The door panel shouldn't be too hard to get off, there may even be a writeup on this board somewhere about it. Hope this helps you a little bit.

Here's a write-up on the window regulator - at least you'll know what the inside looks like. Wink

I'll try that smackin' the door in the middle thing but just in case it doesn't work, where would I find a diagram?

It's raining again which reminds me, my window's still broke. Where can I get that diagram or does anyone else have a idea?

I had this problem a few months ago on my pass side window. It turned out to be the pass side switch. If it fries, the you won't be able to control the window from the drivers controls either. So it's either that or the motor/regulator.

Pull off the door panel and disconnect the plug that goes to the motor. Apply 12v to one terminal and ground the other. Then reverse the connections, if necessary. If the window goes up, the problem is the switch. If not, then the regulator is bad...take a look at the writeup that Code3TJ posted. It was done by majikxms when he and I replaced one of his regulators in about 15 minutes, not including getting the part.

Good Luck

Thank you very much Mr. Phantum. I hope to have a free minute in the near future and I'll give it a try. I'll report back with my findings. Again, Much thanks!
