All the directions I have found for the Fordyce trail start at Eagle Lakes and end at Meadow lake.

Has anyone here run the trail in reverse (down hill)?
If so please provide a report on the difference.

I don't know anything about the trail you're talking about but there used to be a lot of unmarked trails out on the Mojave Desert. Growing up in Tehachapi we spent a lot of time in the old mine shafts around Mojave, Randsburg and Johannesburg. There is a road that cuts between 395 and 14 that runs through Randsburg south of Ridgecrest/China Lake Naval Wpns Station and east of Red Rock Canyon State Park. C4WDA had one of their HiDesert Roundups there one time. There are a bunch dirt roads going into the mountains to the north of that road in steep canyons and dry riverbeds (as long as its not raining) that could be interesting. It's a 3 1/2 to 4 hour drive from Pendleton. Try to do some checking to see if the area is open for vehicles first, it's been 20 years since I have been there. Use to be a lot of fun.
