When using the Hinge Light Mounts for a TJ. What is the best way to run the wires? Meaning, What route to run the wires from the lights on the windshield hinge?

any chance you can post a picture? I plan on getting extra lights for my TJ too and would like to see how you installed your wires

I have a few questions about these too

1) Any one know of a write up? For installing the wiring and where to connect it to?
2) How do you have it set up to turn them on? Same switch as your main foglights or another switch?
3) What mount did you use, and what kind of lights did you get? Extra fog lights? search lights? driving lights?
4)Just wondering if there is a big diffence from those $150 lights we see in cataloges from the $50 sets we find in Ebay

Some one posted around here some where that they recommended KC lights

Most of the light kits you buy will come with very detailed directions, I have 2 extra sets mounted on my front bumper and a set on the rear bumper wired into my reverse lights.

For the front lights, I used separate switchs, so I have complete control of them.

For the rear 55W lights I simply wired them into the existing reverse lighting harness, easy as pie.

What do you want your extra lights to do? I have a set of PIAA 520 Ion for my Fog lamps and a set of KC Titanium Slimlines for more driving light. However, the KCs are too bright to actually use on the roads when other cars are out and I've aimed them as low as possible, they still end up blinding everyone...so take that into consideration too...

Here a photo of my lighting:

First, I must say, I love what you did to your grill, makes your jeep look rugged as hell

thanks for the tip, not really sure what I want the lights for, honestly its just because I like how it looks. I tend to stop alot at car accidents since Im a paramedic and having lights I can aim when Im parked close by would be a bonus, so might go with 1-2 search lights.

Can you post a picture of your rear extra backuplights?? what did you use?

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with the Line-X on the grill too Smile

I used KC 55W 'backup' lights, I'm nearly certain I got them from www.quadratec.com there are some shots of them on my website, just click the link in my signature.
