Go to Jeep and buy one.. (About $20 ..) You will need a TJ gas cap as well..
(about $30 )
You take off the inner panel on the drivers side rear...
Unscrew the old cover...
Reinstall the interior piece...
Un hook your Fuel inlet and vent hose from the bottom of the inlet..
(from under the Jeep.. YOu might have to pull the fender trim to access it.)
Pull the inlet out. (4 screws) Put the TJ cover on.. (You will have to trim the center out a bit..) Reinstall your inlet upside down ...
Put some self tapping screws in the outer ring..
Reinstall your fuel line and vent tube...
(If you removed fender trim reinstall that now as well...)
Thats it....
The only hard part is getting the fuel inlet to fit good once you flip it upside down.. and getting the hoses back on...
It took me about 40 minutes and I had to figure it out on my own..
WIth these easy to follow instructions you should be done in twice that time...
Hope that helps..

You can do that to.. But the TJ cap has a little leash thing that sticks into the surround and keeps the cap from getting left behind...(Til it breaks that is... ) _________________ BONE STOCK

I haven't banged my ZJ up enough yet so there was no way I was running screws into the body.
I removed the stock door and drilled two small holes into either side of the plate holding the stock filler neck in place. Then I trimmed out the rear of the TJ filler housing to fit around the stock neck.
After that I put two screws thru the TJ filler housing and into the holes I'd drilled. Then, to complete the look, I cut the heads off four screws and super-glued them into the holes around the TJ housing to give it the screwed on look.
Along with the TJ gas cap with its leash it looks pretty good.
If I figure out how to post pics, I will. _________________ '94 ZJ: I6, 2" BB, 31s, lunchbox locker |

I'm with you on that note. Do you have any pics of your final install, in particular where you drilled the holes, how much and where you had to trim the back of the housing? I'm actually in the middle of my install.
Thanks in advance. |

Cool94gc & Swamp Boy
Did the TJ gas cap fit OK? I was worried about sealing enough so as not to throw any error codes.
Thanks |

Ah hell, no reason in particular. I just thought it looked cool. I get comments on it from time to time so that's cool, too.

I can't wait to see 'em.
Anything else you had to do to get it all to fit right?
Swampy was talking about rotating the filler tube & vent hose, that makes me nervous .
I'd like to hear the details of your install, sounded like you didn't have to do all of that.
Due to my high "dork factor" I'm all for the easiest method. |

In one of the pics you can see where I had to cut a part out of the back so the TJ fuel cap would fit right. In the other pics you can't see the cut I made. _________________ '94 ZJ: I6, 2" BB, 31s, lunchbox locker |
