Hello, I'm new to the board and JEEP's.

I'm looking at a '90 cherokee, it's mint well taken care of but has 270Km....how long do JEEP's last?

I plan to do some off-roading in it, not to crazy but who knows maybe someday i'll have 35"s. For now 30" will do, I assume these are good trucks for that.

thanks,

Jeff

I have a '90 with 150K miles and still runs good. Many others have clocked over 300K. If it was maintained well it should last quite a bit longer.

Yea, if you take care of them they will stack up the miles/kms. The 4.0L is a rock. I've read of people pushing 350,00 miles (~560,000Km)...then they rebuild them and start over.

175,000 on mine...mint condition inside, seats are not even worn-AT ALL. I used to be a car dealer, never seen much other than Mercedes look as good as my rig. No dings underneath, musta been a streeter. My engine is solid as a rock, just like Phantum said.

'87 XJ no motor work 254763 miles (had to go outside to look). replaced a lot of little things (tie rods, bearings, etc..), but the pistons are all within 5% of compression. It's a daily driver too.

the body will probably go long before the engine. I drove one to 207K mile then the next driver put another 97k on it before doing a rebuild.

I just picked up an 88 cherokee with 355000 km on it. It has a used engine in it with 300 000 on it, it runs great, doesnt' burn oil, and the transmission shifts nice and smooth. The previous owner neglected it, which is why it needed the used engine, but if you keep up on oil changes and trans fluid, most vehicles will run and drive for at least 400 000km. Of course the power windows and locks, ignition switch, and neutral safety switch are another story alltogether......but I can put up with that little stuff on a high mileage vehicle.

Those Tonkas will last through anything!! Drops down taircases, collisions with the couch, and the sand box!! rofl

EDIT: This morning (December 5) I clocked 54,000 miles on my '02 TJ. It runs just like the day I bought it. (I know that my mileage compared to others who have posted is miniscule, but like they say, the 4.0L is as solid as a rock.)
