Before I put the new radiator in, and before I hook up the heater, is there a way to flush out all the junk in the system aroud the engine block? Can I just stick a garden hose in the top radiator hose and turn it on? I guess I'll have to remove the t-stat first, eh?

sounds good to me...not sure how much stuff will actually get dislodged and run out...... I've never used it in an assembled engine but boat descaler is a wonderful product that removes everything it touches....might not be the best thing for your gaskets though....probably better off just sticking to the garden hose.

I'd disconnect both radiator hoses so you don't flush any junk into your new radiator. Also, if you've got them, pull the engine block drain plugs.
