ive replaced shocks and everything else is tight, except my steering stabilizer... cant check that, cant get it off.
but when i hit a bump. my front end goes crazy, feels like the wheels are going to take off.
question is... could it be the stabilizer ??

thanx in advance.

Check the traction bar. Generaly on the left (driver) side. When mine starts to do the woble all I have to do is tighten it up, and that cures it.

Its the long staight bar that angles upward that is right in front of the steering stabilizer shock. On my 89 it is missing the cotter pin at the castle nut so it loosens up every once and a while (seems someday I'll get a pin put in Rolling Eyes ) on my 87 its the bolts that hold the bracket (the one the castle nut is on) down. This may or may not be your problem, but it was mine. This is a simple place to start.

Check all the heim joints too (tie rod & ends, drag link, etc.)....especially since it starts after you hit a bump and have replaced the shocks.

The trac bar is a pretty good bet. Make sure you torque it to spec...the axle mount is 74 ft/lbs and the frame mount is 60 ft/lbs.. (Fastasu - if it keeps coming loose, that's most likely why. If the frame mount is coming loose, the heim joint is probably shot.)
