I just got a RE 3 1/2" Superflex kit (without shocks) and wanted to get some ideas for shocks before I install it all on my 97 TJ. I am thinking about Rancho 9000's as they are adjustable from inside (and I can get them through my work at a good price). Anyone running this combo? I have even thought about the 5000's, but I think the ride might get a little rough with them...

Thanks,

BLTRacer

I've only good things about rancho's from truck people, only knew one guy that had them on his TJ, and he didn't like them very much. I really like my Old Man Emu and most people like them also, never heard a bad word about them, other than price and they still are cheaper than the RS 9000's. I've also heard good things about the DT 3000's.

I ran the RS5000's on my '97 years ago....not long enough to help me forget the bone sharring ride they gave shock . RS9000's might be nice because of the in-cab adjustability option, but I never ran them to offer an opinion. I have a set of OME's on mine and love them. Great ride quality and never really found them too 'soft' offroad. Either way, I'd avoid the RS5000's like the plague.

I had 5000's and hated them. I had 9000 and hated them more.
Rancho just cant seem to make a decent shock without the bone jarring ride.

OME LT's would work great with the RE coils.
