i have a noise comming from the front end of my '97 zj quadra-trac that gets louder when i accelerate but stops when i let off the gas. if i go 25, whine, if i let off ,no whine, and it is the same no matter who fast i travel.
there is also a very moderate vibration in the gas pedal that accompanies this whine. i've checked my brakes, no dragging, and have replaced wheel bearings both sides. the sound seems to be comming primarily from the driver side. i've been pondering this problemm for some time and am just lost. any ouside info would be great!! ???

'could be something in the diff. tranny, or could be one of your main bearings. Does the whine happen if you're not moving? Or just under load? If it ONLY does it when you're moving, i'd guess diff. or tranny, tranny more likely. Try reverse fairly fast (think BIG parking lot) if it DOESN'T do it in reverse, tranny fer sure.Good luck 'Bro!

I've heard that the viscous couplings in the quadra-trac t-case can cause problems as well. Swampy would know....
